Beats Drum v2.3 KONTAKT VST

Beats Drum VST, Au, and Kontakt sample library was created by sampling 3 drum kits and 14 different snares using different combinations of drum heads and tunings in an acoustically dead environment. The end result is a large drum sample library with interchangeable parts that sounds great no matter the combination. The various kits and drums were sampled utilyzing the Glyn Johns method. Drum overheads were a pair of Shure SM81’s, bass drums were recorded through an Audix D6, and snare drums were captured with a Shure SM 57, with various spot mics used to beef up the sound of the toms when needed.

A wide selection of snare drums were sampled: A Ludwig Acrolite, Black Beauty, and Supraphonic. Vintage drums like a Rogers Powertone (wood), Rogers Dynasonic (brass), and Slingerland Radio King. Modern snares include a Mapex Black Panther, Pork Pie Little Squealer, Pearl Sensitone Classic II, Pearl Chad Smith Signature, Yamaha Tour Custom, Ludwig Accent, as well as some cheaper snares like a Yamaha YD and PDP Double Drive

The drum kits were a Yamaha Tour Custom, Ludwig Accent, and CB drum kit. The various toms where tuned and sampled with different heads as well as different levels of muffling. Cymbals where Zildian A customs (Crashes, Ride, Hi-Hats, Splash, China), New Beat Hi-Hats and a Paiste Ride Cymbal.

All samples where eq’d and processed to bring out the natural character of the drums and to be mix-ready, but were not OVER PROCESSED or OVER COMPRESSED. Further EQ and processing can be easily be achieved (in the VST and AU versions) as each part of the kit can be set to route to individual channels in your DAW. Brushes were used to create a brush kit. Ride was sampled at the bell and outside, everything in this library was captured at 10 velocity levels with at least 3 notes of round-robin.

The XILS 3 V2.0 not only emulates the Synthi ( VCS 3 ) modular synthesizer, it also adds an emulation of the 256 Analog Sequencer, the natural companion of the VCS 3. Is that all ? To start the synchronization click on START SYNCRO button on the left. The program will play the song and you have to click on SET button to synchronize each word with the song. Kanto Syncro will highlight in yellow the word when you click on SET.

In addition to the SET button, this software offer other featurs to apply during and after synchronization. Here are the details:
– INSTRUMENTAL: You can press this button when there is a break (instrumental) in the song and it lets you to bring up the karaoke text “Instrumental” as long as it starts again with the vocals. This button has effect on the output video only.
– UNDO: clicking on UNDO you can undo the last click, and so correct the mistake committed
– RESTORE TO INITIAL: This button is activated when you click STOP SYNCRO and allows you to repeat again the synchronization
– PREVIEW: it allows you to preview the synchronized karaoke file
– Tempo: Above is the TEMPO indicator that allows you to slow down or speed up the song during synchronization.

Export the synchronized song with lyrics
After synchronization you can proceed exporting you karaoke files by clicking the FINISH & SAVE button.

LX122 and LX122 Premium are rotary speaker emulation plug-ins, both featuring XILS-lab’s proprietary True Stereo Dynamic Engine (TSDE), offering a whole new way to record rotary speaker effects. Although there is a lot a various models, the classic Leslie speaker consists of two driver units – a stationary treble unit with spinning horns (called Horn here), and a stationary woofer and spinning rotor (called Drum here), with two filters, which divide the frequency spectrum between the horn and the woofer. Both the horns and a sound baffle for the bass are rotated to create Doppler effect based vibrato, tremolo and chorus effects. The rotating elements can be stopped, switched between slow (chorale) and fast (tremolo), or transitioned between the two settings. Not only the unit gives this particular effect, but also the ensemble it creates with the room where it is located.

The LX122 emulates the Horn and the Drum, as well as the room where various coherent reflections are occurring when they are rotating. It also emulates the tube base amplifier as well as the intrinsic characteristics of the Drum (woofer response and drum size) or the Horn (Tweeter response, horn size and diffusers).

The internal cabinet refexions, which give this known mellow specific sound, are also taken into account but with the never done possibility to increase or decrease their effects, going from a standard closed cabinet to a opened air rotating speakers.

The LX122 is the indipensable companion for your keyboards and organ , but if you like to tweak parameters, if you want to build your own cabinet, change its characteristics, if you want to experiment further in recording this device, using two independant microphones in various rooms, then go to the LX122 Premium, you won’t be despointed. A wide range of stereo effects, space feeling, pitch modifications are straight to your hands.
