There is some funky stuff that happens in the high end on the mojo modes so perhaps the engine wasn’t really truly bypassed. Anyway adds a sense of dimension to synths and strings when used in a send. Use with your favourite VST emulation in parallel.

This is an exquisite sampling of the tone of a channel strip that has preamp, compressor and EQ box with a wonderful clear valve tone. Mainly fairly transparent there is a pleasant increase in definition to a source. These samplings have a more compressed mid range so the deep end becomes more pronounced with the more compressed samplings. Use with your favourite compressor or just use the presets as is to tighten things up either on a track or Master bus. It has that characteristic crunchy crispy hi end thang.

Please note that these require a fully licensed Nebula Pro license to enjoy. Four Liverpudlian musicians changed the audio recording landscape in the 60s. EMI began development of in house hardware that found a home in Abbey Road, recording studio of many a successful artist. The foundation of this library is based on a genuine vintage EMI microphone amplifier section that I managed to track down. A custom made and modified unit optimised for modern recording, it has a 50 Ohm /200 Ohm preamp section and a DI/Line level input. Making your audio full, warm and with a subdued high end to cure harsh highs if you’re looking for something really close to the EMI REDD 47 preamps/ amplifiers, then this may help you get a little closer.

The magic is in the transformers. I studied many reference recordings to attempt to emulate the gentle curves that may lead to you having a nice fat warm and round kick for your studio. Get a Fairchild compressor VST, one of my mojo presets, squash your kick and add one of these presets, push the G-drive up, close your eyes and you may even start to hear what its all about, this fuss about the 60s being the golden era of recording.
